The main room is wall-to-wall carpeted and comprises 1 double bed, 1 single bed, a dining table & chairs, 2 comfy armchairs & coffee table, and a small cupboard “ all in keeping with an old Karoo type ambience.
Parking - is alongside the cottage behind a lockable gate under a shade-net carport.
Braai - there is a small stone braai at the rear of the cottage in the garden.
The kitchen has a full size fridge / freezer fridge, a small microwave, a 2-plate gas stove (no oven), a sink, and all the crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils you"ll need.
The air-conditioner keeps the cottage lovely and cool in summer, but if you prefer, you can leave the old-fashioned mosquito screen door open to enjoy the breeze.
In winter, the air-conditioner, which is also a heater, keeps the cottage snug, and both beds have electric blankets.
As Loxton is somewhat isolated in terms of accessibility to shops, we suggest you bring your food and drinks with you.
Loxton is a delightful hamlet situated beneath a canopy of trees in the heart of the Karoo. This is not a destination that speaks of bright lights, but rather of bright stars. Thanks to no light or air pollution, we have awesome night skies and have seen see up to twenty satellites within two hours of star gazing.
There are also lovely walks around the pretty village with its lovely old vernacular architecture, you can climb our koppies (rocky hills) for never-ending views across the plains, and in spring our streets are a fairytale picture of white pear blossoms. Come and enjoy our tranquillity and vast open spaces, and discover true peace of mind.
