Experience the Northern Cape, South Africa

The 9th Apollo Annual Film Festival will run from 3 to 6 October 2018 in Victoria West in the Northern Cape.

The small, well-established film festival showcases South African documentaries, feature and short films and animation movies. The festival aims to share unique and exciting stories with audiences.

The organisers of the event are inviting South African filmmakers to submit their films for consideration and possible inclusion in the 2018 programme by completing an entry form and supplying a vimeo link for their film.

Note that successful applicants will have to make available DVD or Blu-ray copies of their films in English or with subtitles, for a minimum of two screenings during the duration of the festival.

Several awards will be presented at the Apollo Annual Film Festival, so if your film is selected for screening you will be in line for the following accolades:

  • Best South African Feature Film Award
  • Best South African Documentary Film Award
  • Best South African Short (professional category)
  • Best South African Short (student and newcomer category)
  • Best Actor in a Feature
  • Best Actress in a Feature
  • Best Script for a Feature length film
  • Best South African Short (animation category)
