Family Mountain Biking

Bring your bikes and cycle the trails in the Augrabies National Park. Kids will love splashing through the shallow water that runs over the causeways. The whole family can appreciate the unusual and striking scenery that is stark and magnificent, with the blue, blue sky above the gorge and the ever present Orange River juxtaposed against its surrounds.

There are so many places in the Northern Cape where one can cycle off road, although some do require permits, so enquire before setting out. Some areas that have suitable family friendly trails or dirt roads inlude, Namaqua National Park, Tankwa Karoo National Park, the Karoo Gariep Conservancy, the Niewoudtville area, Leliefontein (near Kamieskroon) has an easy 9km circular cycling route, while Kamieskroon has an 8km route. The Goegap Nature Reserve, offers a 14km mountain biking trail.
