A SPARKLING EASTER FOR THE DIAMOND CITY

Visitors to the Northern Cape capital city of Kimberley are in for a weekend of non-stop fun and action with a jam-packed Easter calendar.

Music lovers should not miss the annual Diamond & Dorings Music Festival, which will be taking place from 19 – 20 at the Langley Resort in Kimberley.  The festival features an exciting line-up of local and national artists for a scintillating weekend of music, arts and culture!  Some of the performers in action on Saturday include Black Motion, Vusi Mahlasela, Bongo Maffin, The Soil and Tshepo Tshola, while the crowds will be able to enjoy the great vibes of amongst other Zimbabwian talent Oliva Mtukudzi, Zahara, Mafikizolo, Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbuli on Sunday.  Various ticket options are available from Computicket.

And for the younger generation, Fresh & Euphonik and Milkshake will be performing at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre on Saturday, 19th April. Tickets available at Computicket.

Speed freaks and racing fanatics can look forward to a weekend of furiously fast, adrenaline pumping action at the Monstermob Raceway in Kimberley.  The Kimberley Easter Motorsport Festival features awe-inspiring spinning, drifting as well as oval track racing and a show & shine competition. The MSA sanctioned drag racing contest will take place on the R64 better known as the old Bloemfontein road.    A definite must for car enthusiasts.

Change tempo slightly and enjoy some of the Diamond City’s top tourist attractions.  A visit to the Big Hole museum complex is fun and educational, so hop onto the authentic tram and take a ride from the CBD.  Youngsters should not visit Kimberley and not pop in at the Kumba Skate Plaza for some amazing street skating at this world-class skate park.

Discover the rich history and cultural diversity of the Diamond Fields region by visiting various museums, the incredible Wildebeestkuil Rock Art Centre or doing a township tour to Galeshewe.  Get close to nature by taking a drive to Kamfers Dam for the incredible sight of a breeder community of lesser flamingos, go on a game viewing safari at a nearby game reserve or meet up with the King of the Jungle at a wildcat sanctuary just outside town.
