Northern Cape Tourism Advices Travellers to Take Alternative Routes

The Northern Cape Tourism Authority is advising travellers to divert via the Northern Cape instead of travelling along the N1 due to road closures and flooding near Laingsburg.

A tourism spokesperson recommended that motorists use alternative routes such as the R354 via Sutherland, the R356 through Fraserburg or via Calvinia, which are still in good conditions despite the recent rains.  “By using these road alternatives, travellers will be able to avoid heavy delays and could at the same time explore some of the gems of the Northern Cape province,” mentions Dianna Martin of the NCTA.
