Kookfontein Rondavels

Kookfontein is the original name of Steinkopf, established around 1810. It is strongly influenced by the Nama culture.

Missionary churches played a big role in the establishment of the community, and the 'mule' train transporting copper ore from O'kiep to Port Nolloth had a stopover at the Klipfontein Hotel, of which the remnants and old water tower is still visible.
